The only thing that I iknow about databases at the moment is that it is like a giant storage program that contains different information.
22/4/09
This session, I learnt how to create a simple database using Microsoft Access. I found it really easy to use and I don't think I will find other aspects of the program hard. I learnt how to do it by reading through the Microsoft Access Learning Module PDF.
23/4/09
This session, using the same PDF Module, I learnt how to create queries for databases. I found the task relatively easy and I still don't think that I will have any trouble with the other tasks in the future. I can see how queries would be useful as a way to find information in databases.
28/4/09
This seesion, I learned how to create a form with Microsoft Access and by listening to Mrs Harvey's instructions. I again found it quite easy to do. I think that I will do reasonably well on my PBL and my SAC.
29/4/09
This session, through Mrs Harvey's instructions, I learnt how to effectively create a database form with Microsoft Access. Once again (this line is getting repetitve) I found it easy to do and don't think future tasks will present any difficulties.
30/4/09
This session I made the tables of my database. Next time, we are going to do a form and a report.
6/5/09
This session, we tried to make a query but figured out that we had too many dfferent tables. We solved this by putting all of our information into one table. That table will be finished next session.
7/5/09
Today, we finished of our big table. From that, we created queries, forms, and reports.
GAME MAKER LEARNING LOG
21/07/2009
From when we started this task up to now, I have remembered my Game Maker skills and have learnt a few new ones. Things that I have learnt include how to set gravity for a platformer like game (credit to Daniel Murray), different ways to use the basic eventing commands (such as changing an object into an explosion and for that to die when the animation has finished), and new ways of editing sprites (such as instant hue changes). I have also used my skills to help my team and others with problems that they may have or giving them an easier alternative in event creation.

What can I do?
I can make a character move, shoot, jump, collide with walls. I can make enemies move and shoot. I can make the character move between rooms. I can set scores.
What I need to learn?
In terms of skills, I don't need anything else to make my game what I want it to be.
How I learnt it?
The majority of my skills were learnt in ICT in Year 9. I have refreshed those skills via using Game Maker. I have learnt new skills by fiddling about with Game Maker. I have also learnt new skills from my team mates.
What blocked me?
Nothing has blocked me currently.
Resources I used?
I have used resources that have been supplied on the school network as well as my own resources from home.
Feedback?
That the game is great. Daniel Murray
It's coming along nicely. Mrs Harvey
How I felt?
I Felt good that my game was liked by people of my age and up.
Use of time?
I believe that I have used my time wisely. I have been creating the guts of the game so to speak.

Nothing has blocked me this lesson.
I feel that my game is coming along well. There are a few gameplay issues that I am sorting out, such as difficulty, but that isn't a major problem.
I believe that I have used my time wisely. I am still creating the guts of the game.
28/07/2009
The main levels of the game are complete. Now I just need to make the final boss level and the instructions page. I need Daniel to help me with a health system for the final boss.
I had some trouble with difficulty levels, making the levels too easy or too hard, but I sorted that out.
29/07/2009
I finished the game today. Daniel helped me with the programming for the final boss. Both Daniel and Mitch played my Final product and said it was a great game that hed been made. Now I just need to make the testing table for the grade four students to fill out. I have my careers research at home. That will be handed in on Thursday next week.

This session, the kids from the primary school came here to test our games. My game was a success. I got all of my ratings ranked at either 9 or 10 out of 10. All of the kids who played my game thoroughly enjoyed it. At first I didn't know how they would react as most of them have a DS or a Wii which greatly overshadow anything that I could currently do. But, surprisingly, they liked it. Fortunately, there weren't any glitches in the final product. Overall, everything went better than planned.
